WaDDa FriDay!

Well it has been a while! To say the least!

I have unfortunately been struggling with my health but have finally turned the corner and so YAY I am back to stay and you will be hearing a lot more from me.

It's Friday today in an overcast Cape Town, South Africa but my mood is sunny as along with Friday comes shared moments, laughter and conversation with friends and of course the excitement of sneaking in a bit more time to CREATE!

My eldest son is now 24 years old and working long hours as a Structural Engineer and (as Scrapbookers enjoy to do) I can't help reminiscing about those teenage years when Friday nights meant dropping your Teen(who had the answers to life) off at a club, worrying about their safety all night (there was no "Friend Finder" app back then), trying to stay awake until 2am to fetch them and then drive for kilometers to drop off all their friends.............and so this layout of life as a teen brings joy of moments passed and relief that if I go to bed at 2am, it's only because I was doing what I love.......... Scrapbooking in my Studio.

In this Quick and Easy Scrapbooking Share, I have used my Cuttlebug to cut the long swirls at the top of the page and then in turn, used the bit left behind at the bottom of the page. This creates movement and interest on the pages in a very simple, but effective way.

Happy CREATING xoxo

Envelope Punch Board Project Idea

         Concertina Card - 8 Cards in 1!

                                      with the

            FabScraps Shabbylicious Paper Range

This Concertina Card consists of 8 mini Cards that are 3.5 X 3.5" square inserted into 8 mini Envelopes made on the Envelope Punch Board.  The envelopes are then gummed together on the flaps (using a Thombo gluestick) and folded in a concertina fashion.

I cut two pieces of chipboard (4 X 4") and covered and decorated them and then adhered them to the concertina envelopes to serve as a front and back of the card. I decorated the 8 mini Cards and inserted them in the envelopes.

Using the Yummy Shabbylicious Range of Fabscraps Paper, this pretty project is ideal to use as a card from a group (eg family, bible study, book club) to one person.

Beach Pages

Summer Vacation

Fun in the Sun

Monday has come and gone and I am only popping in to say "Hi!" now, but hang around "you'all' cause there are more than one "look ins" from me today! As I am the luckiest gal to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, surrounded by the sea, I have many "Fun in the Sun" pages to share with you. As I am a Scrapbook Shopaholic (she who dies with the most supplies wins!), I have plenty stash dating way back when and this Fabulous sheet of patterned paper below comes from my stash of FABSCRAPS Paper.  FABSCRAPS is the biggest designer and supplier of "addictive Scrapbook goodies" in South Africa and is now also a supplier in the USA!
Check out their range @  www.fabscrapsusa.com

Usually I would design a Beach page layout running along the page but because I only had a few photos (each from a different outing), I designed the layout running down the page, each drop a different day!
When I covered the frames, I embossed the paper with vertical lines and then sanded up and down the lines bringing out the distressed white lines on the frames, thereby enhancing the lines in the print of the paper and also adding to the distressed look of the Beach!  Note the slicing of the photos in the second length, adding width and dimension to the more scenic shots.
