                       Are We There Yet?

When it comes to Holiday and Travel Scrapbooking, we are so quick to Scrapbook all the beautiful scenic and action shots that we forget about the most "charged" part of the Vacation and that is the Car Trip!

Whether it is a drive up the coast for a Beach Vacation or a hired car in the countryside of Italy, the question always remains: "Are We There Yet?".  I love the crazy behaviour that an impending holiday brings out in everyone in the confinement of a motor vehicle, the debates over whose music is played or the silence as everyone plugs in their ipods or smart phones, the silly competitions about finding number plates and makes of cars along the way, the sing-a-longs, the laughter, the snoring, the grumbling as the 'kids' loose cell phone reception, the shared conversation, the Family bonding.  Surely these are Scrappable Moments to Treasure!

Envelope Punch Board Project Idea

         Concertina Card - 8 Cards in 1!

                                      with the

            FabScraps Shabbylicious Paper Range

This Concertina Card consists of 8 mini Cards that are 3.5 X 3.5" square inserted into 8 mini Envelopes made on the Envelope Punch Board.  The envelopes are then gummed together on the flaps (using a Thombo gluestick) and folded in a concertina fashion.

I cut two pieces of chipboard (4 X 4") and covered and decorated them and then adhered them to the concertina envelopes to serve as a front and back of the card. I decorated the 8 mini Cards and inserted them in the envelopes.

Using the Yummy Shabbylicious Range of Fabscraps Paper, this pretty project is ideal to use as a card from a group (eg family, bible study, book club) to one person.

Super Quick and Easy Card Design

                            with the Envelope Punch Board

This amazing tool is quite difficult to get your hands on as it sells out as soon it hits the shelf!  It not only punches  envelope templates, but also makes bows, boxes, tags, file folders and more. I have used this tool to make the bow on this card and for those of you who have the tool and are punching bows, the measurements for the bow on this card is as follows: for the bottom(tail of the bow) 10cm X 4cm punched at 5 cm on either side and the loop of the bow is 15cm X 4cm punched at 7.5cm on either side. I have used a flattened bottle top to hold the rose and pin.  This card looks stunning in black and white and bling for a 21st card and in ivory and cream for a wedding card.

I have used Authentique's Flourish Range! Thank you Authentique for your inspirational paper designs!

Summer Vacation

Fun in the Sun

Monday has come and gone and I am only popping in to say "Hi!" now, but hang around "you'all' cause there are more than one "look ins" from me today! As I am the luckiest gal to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, surrounded by the sea, I have many "Fun in the Sun" pages to share with you. As I am a Scrapbook Shopaholic (she who dies with the most supplies wins!), I have plenty stash dating way back when and this Fabulous sheet of patterned paper below comes from my stash of FABSCRAPS Paper.  FABSCRAPS is the biggest designer and supplier of "addictive Scrapbook goodies" in South Africa and is now also a supplier in the USA!
Check out their range @  www.fabscrapsusa.com

Usually I would design a Beach page layout running along the page but because I only had a few photos (each from a different outing), I designed the layout running down the page, each drop a different day!
When I covered the frames, I embossed the paper with vertical lines and then sanded up and down the lines bringing out the distressed white lines on the frames, thereby enhancing the lines in the print of the paper and also adding to the distressed look of the Beach!  Note the slicing of the photos in the second length, adding width and dimension to the more scenic shots.

My FIRST Car!

                           EXCITING MOMENTS

                                                    A NEED for SPEED

Nothing is more thrilling for a young school leaver than being handed a set of keys for their very first motor vehicle.  The freedom to explore the open road, the sound system, the possibilities.

In this layout I have used an A4 sized photo as a back drop across the first page in order to emphasise the impact of this very memorable moment!

Well that's it from me for this week, have a fabulous weekend and don't forget to pop in on Monday morning for more ideas.

BEACH PAGES

                      A WALK ON THE BEACH

                                               Sheer Delight

Footprints in the sand, the frolicking of the water as it washes to and fro on the edge of the sand, the whispers in the wind, the boldness of the crashing waves, the echoes of forgotten worlds in the shell pressed against your ear, the peace and solitude and yet the connectivity of burying your toes together in the sand, the territorial seagulls, the sheer possibilities as you breathe in the beauty of Our Creator's Magnificent Work.

PET PAGES

   WANTED - a Buddy, a Pal, a Playmate, a Furry Friend

These are all the things and more that Gypsy, our Beloved Family Dog represented to us. At almost 15 years old, this beautiful Border Collie peacefully passed away in the early hours of  the morning on Tuesday 18 February 2014 and has left an indelible spot in our hearts.

In Memory of Him, I wanted to share a few of the pages that I have scrapped in his very own 8' Scrapbook Album. These pages(amongst many others) have warmed my heart as I relive these cherished memories of a "Legend" in our home.
